Music Director - Nick Stange
The Crossroads Community Band welcomes Nick Stange to the podium as Music Director. Mr. Stange is currently an adjunct music instructor at Victoria College.
Stange graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master's in Arts in 2014 and in 2010 from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Music Education. He has performed in music venues across the United States and Western Europe. While at the University of Texas, Nick performed with the percussion ensemble at the 2006 PASIC convention and in 2008, he toured western Europe with the Wind Ensemble, performing John Corrliano's Symphony No. 3. From 2008 to 2009, he was a member of the Cage Percussion Players that performed many of John Cage's percussion works. In the summer of 2007, Stange marched with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. In the spring of 2014, he toured the southwest United States performing new works for solo percussion and giving master classes at several universities. Stange has also performed at numerous percussion clinics, festivals, solo recitals, Texas Music Educators Association Convention, Florida Music Educators Association Convention, Florida's Day of Percussion, and has been featured in concerts presented by the Central Florida Composers Forum. Stange has been a music educator for the last 10 years in Texas and Florida. He lives in Victoria with his beautiful wife, Shelby.
